serving portion: 2 Medium Jam Jars

ingredients


  • 1kg large yellow dates

  • 500g sugar

  • 15g lemon juice

  • 3L water

directions

  1. Peel the dates and add them to water.(1 hour).

  2. Boil water until dates are cooked.(1 hour).

  3. Let it cool then remove pits.

  4. Keep 200g broth aside, cover and leave overnight.

  5. Remove the dates and boil the sugar on high heat, stir for 10 minutes, add the dates and boil for 15 minutes.

  6. Add the lemon juice.

  7. Remove from heat and let cool.

  8. If you prefer, you can stuff each date with an almond.

  9. Pour into a glass jar.

tips

  1. Peal the dates with the potato peeler.
